More on the transcendence of God

Barth also quotes the early Church Fathers, but I think we get an understanding of the hiddenness and mystery of God.
20 For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse. Romans 1:20 NASB
15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. 16 For by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things have been created through Him and for Him. 17 He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together. Colossians 1:15-17 NASB
17 Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honour and glory forever and ever. Amen. 1 Timothy 1:17 NASB
Anyhow the Hiddenness of God is also in other theologies called the Incomprehensibility of God such as in Bavinck’s Doctrine of God.
