Revelation in Various Religions and so called none-Belief systems.
Task 3
Go on the internet and research the word revelation’
This is what I researched but feel free to do your own research.
Buddhism
Revelation involves the
'revealing' of truth and, for many religions, is an important part of learning
about God. Buddhists look to the teachings of the Buddha as their main source
of revelation.
Hinduism
In Hinduism,
the dominant religion of India, revelation is generally viewed as a
process whereby the religious seeker, actuating his deeper spiritual powers,
escapes from the world of change and illusion and comes into contact with
ultimate reality.
Judaism
Revelation refers to an act in which God
conveys a message, teaching, or truth to humanity or to a group of human
beings.Jan 15, 2015
Islam
In Islamic
belief, revelations are God's Word delivered by his chosen individuals –
known as Messenger prophets – to mankind. In Islam, the Quran is
considered a ‘wahy’ given to the Islamic prophet, Muhammad.
Atheism
Atheism is, in the broadest sense, an
absence of belief in the existence of deities. Less broadly ... is a lack of empirical
evidence, the problem of evil, the argument from inconsistent revelations, the rejection of concepts
that ... Atheism has
sometimes been defined to
include the simple absence of belief that any deities exist.
Polytheism
This is my definition as I could not find one on the internet. The Divine that can be disclosed immediately
from a divinity or disclosed in nature…
Feel free to critique this definition and point me to some better and more
accurate definition.
Christianity
The Christian
revelation is viewed as occurring primarily in the life, teaching, death,
and Resurrection of Jesus, all interpreted by the apostolic witnesses under the
illumination of the Holy Spirit.
